What the Heck is Vibrational Frequency?

Most people have heard of the Law of Attraction these days, but have you heard of the Law of Vibration? To fully understand the Law of Attraction, you need to understand vibrational frequency – that's where the Law of Vibration comes in.

Everything Vibrates

Quantum Physics shows us that everything in the universe is made of energy. Everything in the Universe is in a state of vibration.

And, yeah, I mean everything…

Everything you can imagine is made up of energy. Paper clips, shoes, a table, animals, plants, people and even our thoughts and feelings all have their own vibrational frequency. It is all governed by the Law of Vibration. Each object, animal and person, etc. vibrates at different frequencies in their natural state, this is called resonance.

This is a very surface-level explanation of how this all works but if you'd like to build a deeper understanding, I recommend a book called Power vs. Force by David R. Hawkins, M.D. Ph.D.

Even Still Objects Have Vibrational Frequencies

A solid object such as a crystal or stone appears to be motionless, but they’re actually made up of millions and millions of sub-atomic particles that are stirring with energy. The crystal or stone is pure energy and movement; this is part of the reason they can be used for healing.

They’re great for healing because of their stable, perfect frequency. When crystals or stones are placed on or near a body, the energy from our body will actually begin to mimic the perfect steady frequency of the crystal. This is called entrainment. So it balances out the vibrational frequency of the body.

The frequency even differs from crystal to crystal, but that's a topic for another time. 🙂

Even though we can't actually see the Law of Vibration at work with our naked eye, sometimes we have to open our minds, not just our 5 senses. We can’t see gravity, but the Law of Gravity is always at work. Throughout time we've found that the Earth isn't flat or the center of the universe or that the Milky Way is the only galaxy in the Universe. We’re constantly uncovering new truths like the Laws of Attraction and Vibration.

In this post, I’ll be answering some common questions about how these laws work.

How is the Law of Attraction Related to the Law of Vibration?

As I mentioned above, even our thoughts and feelings have a vibrational frequency which is the Law of Vibration. We also know, that according to the Law of Attraction, like energy attracts like energy. So whether we’re aware of it or not, these two laws are always in motion. The Universe merges with the vibrations we put out. We manifest what we want when we are in our natural state of vibration. We manifest what we don't want when the Universe matches our vibrations when we are out of alignment with our natural state. This, of course, causes us to manifest things we don't like or want.

But now that you know about them, you can use them to your advantage. Being aware of how they work will give you a huge advantage when it comes to changing your life for the better by changing your thoughts and emotional responses to things.

Many of us have been programmed, at an early age, to think about and feel things like fear, inadequacy, embarrassment, worry, and scarcity.

Luckily, there are many ways we can reprogram our thoughts and emotions to attract the things and situations we really want in life.

Do the Laws of Vibration and Attraction Always Work?

These laws are ALWAYS working for (or against) us based on the vibrations we’re sending out. These laws never fail and they don't take time off because everything is always sending out vibrations. They’ll always give back more of the same of what we send out.

Why Doesn't the Law of Attraction Work for Some People?

Well, that’s the interesting part. The Law of Attraction works for everyone. It doesn’t care if you’re manifesting what you want or don’t want. It makes no difference.

But there are various reasons why some people think the Law of Attraction is a pseudoscience or doesn't work.

The first place to start is to have an understanding of what self-worth is, how it works, and then build self-worth.

Other reasons (which are all related to low self-worth as well) are that they aren't clear about what they want in life, or their thoughts and feelings don't align with their goals, or they aren't consistent with their efforts or they have self-limiting beliefs (low self-worth) getting in the way, etc.

Our subconscious mind has been shaped by what we’ve been programmed to believe over a span of many years starting in childhood. Your family, friends, mentors, teachers, and the media all played a part in sculpting your belief system.

This becomes a very solid, even stubborn belief system. Introducing new information that goes against what you’re already programmed to believe will take time and consistency to change. I can't tell you how much time because it's different for everyone, but it’s possible if you stick with it.

What are Positive Affirmations?

One of the most effective ways to reprogram your belief system is through affirmations.

Affirmations can help you be in control of your conscious thoughts and feelings. They’re short powerful statements and when you recite them in your head, or even more effective, out loud, repeatedly over time these new thoughts create your reality.

Every day we have thousands and thousands of thoughts running through our heads. Research has shown that up to 80% of those thoughts are negative so it's not really a surprise when things go awry in your life.

It's kind of crazy, isn't it?

Most of these thoughts are at a subconscious level, meaning they are below our conscious awareness.

Powerful affirmations actually make your subconscious thoughts conscious by bringing them into your awareness. Over time, when you're actively working to make your conscious thoughts positive, you’re much more aware of the negative thoughts threatening to take over. That way you can stop them in their tracks and replace them with something positive.

And that’s how we can reprogram our subconscious with a whole new belief system.

If you believe it, you can manifest it into your life whether it be more money, a more fulfilling career, a new car, a romantic relationship, a vacation or just the desire to be happy and healthy.

So get busy making a list of positive affirmations. There are just a few ground rules:

  1. I like to write my affirmations in the past tense, as though they've already happened.
  2. Leave out any negative words like “can't” “debt” “bills,” etc.
  3. They need to be specific and measurable.
  4. Don't be concerned with HOW you're going to accomplish your affirmations. When you're being consistent about reprogramming your subconscious mind, the universe has a way of placing opportunities and resources in your path the help you.

BONUS TIP: If you're one of those people who just can't get into affirmations because you feel like they're unrealistic and not believable, try this amazing strategy I learned from my mentor, Andy Dooley. He teaches affirmations in a super powerful way – Beginning, Becoming & Allowing. See the example below to see how this works. 🙂

So instead of saying, “My life is filled with abundance, and money is coming to me from every direction.”

You could say something like:

“I'm BEGINNING to believe a life filled with abundance is possible for me.”

“I'm BECOMING more aware of abundance flowing into my life, even the tiniest synchronicities show the Universe is on my side!”

“I'm ALLOWING myself to be open and ready for any abundance the Universe is sending me!”

How can I explain healing frequencies to my mom? She doesn’t know about the law of attraction at all, but has taken my advice to listening to frequencies to heal her illness. Although I told her a few months ago that listening to a certain frequency helped heal my leg soreness as a way to build a belief in her that these audios work, she today told me that she thinks that these frequencies can’t actually heal her, and are only there to make her feel more relaxed.
