6 Secrets to Leveraging the Law of Attraction and Manifesting Your Desires

When I used to struggle with the Law of Attraction and manifesting what I want, I found it was usually because of one HUGE, but often overlooked reason.

I haven’t surrendered.

The word “surrender” usually has a negative connotation, so let me explain.

By surrendering, I don’t mean giving up, admitting defeat, or having to let go of something you want. It means accepting things for what they are and not trying to force things to happen in life.

The following steps are all you need to surrender and start manifesting with more simplicity and ease:

1. Set a Strong Intention

I like writing about my intentions in my journal. I have a special journal called an “invitation record” — something I adopted from Master Spiritual Teacher and Shamanic Healer, Greg Drambour of Sedona Sacred Journeys after spending a morning hiking with him in the Red Rocks of Sedona.

Greg taught me an incantation that can be applied to any intention. So I write the intention as part of the incantation (which is basically asking the Universe to deliver what I’m asking for in my intention, standing in faith with it and letting go of the HOW it’s going to come to fruition).

After I’ve written my intention/incantation I often read it out loud to solidify it even more. I’ll continue to repeat this process each day in my invitation record or as often as I feel inspired to do it until the intention I set has manifested. And I’ve been shocked on more than one occasion as to how well this method works! Sometimes I’ve manifesting things in hours, days, or weeks depending on what my intention was of course.

2. Take Inspired Action

As much as I wish we could just sit back and relax after an intention has been set, that’s not the way it works.

I like to think of taking action as a good-faith gesture to show the Universe you’re serious about your intention and you’re ready to receive it.

So do something, it doesn’t have to be anything earth-shattering. Just take some sort of step towards what it is you want to manifest. If you aren’t sure what action to take, make a list of possible things you can try — then just start testing.

Remember, it’s a good-faith gesture to the Universe. It will help raise your vibe and help decrease lag time (the time from when you set your intention to when the Universe delivers).

3. Stay in Alignment

If you’ve been studying the Law of Attraction and manifesting for any length of time you’ve likely heard about staying in alignment. But what does this actually mean?

Quite simply, being in alignment means you’re an energetic match with what it is you’re trying to manifest. The simplest way to know if you’re in alignment is that you:

  • Don’t feel stressed out about your intention/desire
  • Are at peace with it
  • Have faith it’s on it’s way to you
  • Feel like things are easy and inflow
  • Don’t feel desperate or needy to what you’re trying to manifest
  • Feel positive, happy, and focused on what’s going right in your life (not what’s going wrong or you don’t like)
  • Avoid negativity and other things that can prevent or prolong manifesting what you want. Getting Into AlignmentAbraham Hicks talks about the importance of being in the moment to be in alignment with your desires. For example, when you’re working in your business but thinking about things you need to do as a mother, wife, friend, etc. your energy is split. Whatever it is you’re doing, do just that one thing at a time. When it comes to alignment multi-tasking is not your friend and set realistic expectations of how much you can really get done in a day. Decide on what you’re going to do and then enjoy doing it and that thing alone.

Other things you can do that help you get into alignment:

  • Do the activities and hobbies you love
  • Spend time around people who accept you for who you are
  • Meditation
  • Journaling
  • Spending time in nature
  • Creating a vision board
  • Reciting affirmations/mantras
  • Learn about something new that lights you up and inspires you

4. Be in the Now

Being present and mindful are both super important to effectively using the Law of Attraction and manifesting.

Dwelling on the past and things you wish would have turned out differently or shaming or guilting yourself isn’t helping you improve things at all.

Keeping a visualization practice is another great way to get into alignment with the Law of Attraction and manifesting your desires. However, worrying about or fixating on your intention and how and when you think it should happen won’t serve you.

Those things will only keep your vibration low and that low frequency will then be matched by the Universe and you’ll simply receive more of what you don’t want.

My best advice is to set your strong intention and move on with your day in the most positive, peaceful way possible.

When I started setting my intention and then visualizing for a few minutes how amazing it FEELS to already have that thing is when I started getting the most results with the Law of Attraction and manifesting.

5. Let go of the HOW

Knowing how your intention is going to manifest isn’t your job, that’s up to the Universe. After you’ve gone through the process of setting your intention, your job is to keep your vibe high, stay in alignment, and have FAITH. I know this isn’t easy, especially if your situation isn’t great at the moment. I’ve been there and I know how truly difficult it is. Visualization has helped me the most to get past this. If you can at least put your mind in that place of having manifested what you want and feeling the joy of that once a day it helps a lot to get you out of the feelings of lack. Having gratitude for what’s going right helps too.

6. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

If you see others where you’d like to be, celebrate them.

It’s that simple.

Allowing in feelings like guilt or shame because of things you think you could have done better or different isn’t going to help you.

Yes, always try to learn from outcomes in your life and see how you can be better next time, but don’t put yourself down because of it.

You TRIED and that’s a lot more than lots of people will ever do.

Feelings of jealousy and envy aren’t high vibe either so let that go. Truly be happy for people who are a little further down the path than you and see what you can learn from how they got there.
